Aromatherapy
Little is known as to how far aromatherapy dates back to. the Egyptians were credited for developing the first form of distillation machines to extract oils from particular plants, these were used in the embalming process for those that had past worlds.
This practice of using infused aromatic oils led to using in everyday life as mood enhancers too.
There were many other cultures that discovered the benefits of essential oils, Greek mythology claims that the gods were gifted with the knowledge of perfume and its fragrance.
The term “aromatherapy” was by a French chemist who invented the word after discovering that essential oils have a great healing powers following treating a burn with lavender.
This then also led French surgeon Jean Valnet to use essential oils to help heal soldiers wounds during the second world war, this proved the medical benefits of aromatherapy and why it is still so widely used today in many cultures to help heal and benefit the mind and spirit.
Having been an Aromatherapist for over 15 years I am extremely passionate about how healing these oils can be, following this passion has lead me to study natural perfumery which I am currently doing, aiming to one day make essential products and perfumes designed specifically for your needs and benefits.
I make bespoke individual blends for every client, depending on how they are feeling in that moment in time, from this I create a massage using the blend for the client and you can take that blend home with you after your treatment.
Our sense of smell is so very important and to work with essential oils is a wonderful joy, to be able to create a blend that not only benefits a person physically and mentally but can take them back to memories of nostalgia in their life is truly wonderful.
